That should bring the tourists in but I hope they're more careful and still follow the rules.
Personally, I would wait a little longer.

We are camping at Sapillo in July, restrictions lifted in that area? Camp fires are nice to have as long as people use common sense and follow the guidelines.

I'd personally like to see more restrictions on fires and way less complete forest closures. The complete forest and BLM closure in Lincoln County last year really pissed me off. I was all set to gripe about it this year, but it hasn't happened due to a few showers and (so I hear) a new administrator (thank you!). People should be able to hike, bike, or ride a horse in the forest or any public land no matter how dry it gets. These activities are not fire hazards, and if you use the "people are idiots" argument... then the only solution is to evacuate the entire state.

I really just want people to be careful and use common sense in what they're doing.
Throwing cigarettes out the car window is a mindless thing that people do and it just can't be done here without hurting the land.

Amen to that. What I don't understand is the folks that have to drag all their toys out to the forest. Can't they just go out into the woods and have a good time looking at the trees and listening to the birds? Apparently not, because everytime I go near developed campgrounds, there are hordes of people with TVs and radios blasting, and three-wheelers blazing around. There is almost more noise at a campground than in the city. If you are such a fidgety person that you need to bring all your junk with you, why not just stay home and make noise?

Exactly! As a motorcycle tourist, I've learned to travel light. I like to go where it's quiet. I was enjoying myself one day at the Sierra Blanca lookout, listening to the silence, when an idiot drove up in a BMW with the sound system blasting. I just left. Some people have no consideration for others, as if you hadn't noticed.
