Dizzydog is on a distinguished road
Default Angel Fire and Eagle Nest "FEE's"

I noticed that to buy in Angel Fire you also have to pay a $1200-1500 a year "association fee" if you will. This is for roads repairs, and also gets you a pass to use the Ski resort at a discount etc..

Does Eagle Nest have that as well? Thats a large amount when you figure your taxes might already be $2000 a year.

This is one reason we are torn from moving to this area rather than NE Washington or Montana. TAXES AND FEE's!

We are wanting to build a small cabin and have just began our hunt recently. We have narrowed it down to Angel Fire, Eagle Nest and NW Montana, also NE Washington.

Any push for the NM region would be greatly appreciate. The up side is only a 9hr drive from our home here in Phoenix.

This is just a 4 month summer home we are looking for.

Then rent one every summer. Probably cheaper then interest, upkeep and fees associated with owning.

You were probably looking at property located within the recorded subdivisions of Angel Fire Resort which is an association and has membership dues or assessments.

I don't know if the Eagles Nest are has any communities which have these fees. They are commonly called Homeowners Associations. I would try searching the internet or contacting a few real estate people.
