Just curious for those who live in and around alamogordo if you have any experience's with a family practice doctor good, average or bad etc.
When i looked up ''alamogordo physicians'' on google i see there's many around town as some are located at the medical offices next to Gerald Champion Hospital and also there's ''White Sands Family Practice'' on Indian Wells and Pecan St. and lastly i see a couple of them on 9th St. and Puerto Rico/Filipino Ave. but i have not a clue who to call as i've never needed one before however i've been dealing with chronic insomnia for a few months now and i need something to help me sleep until i can resolve some of the personal problem's that have been bothering me for a while now.
I guess i could always go to the new Urgent Care facility on Washington Ave. and 13th St. but i'd prefer a family practice doctor if possible.
Everyone tells me that Dr Bankston is a good doctor. She is on 12th ST close to the gas company. I know several people who have gone to her and they like her. We go to Dr's Anireddy and Hanumandla a husband and wife team on 9th st. They are Indian and sometimes I feel like there are things they don't understand that you are trying to tell them. Another drawback to them is that they go to India sometimes for a couple of weeks at a time and don't have anyone that I know of covering their practice so you end up doing urgent care or the ER if you get sick.
Then another one is Dr Paylor and she is in the same building on 10th that houses the fitness/physical therapy place. A friend of ours just recently mentioned she is their doctor.
White Sands Family practice is now a walk in clinic, when we can't get in to see our doctors we go there. Dr Heredia and Dr. Walcher practice there and they are pretty good, however the wait time can be pretty long.
They also say Dr Jun over in the medical complex attached to the hospital is good.
Hope these help.
Unfortunately you are kinda out of luck for finding a REALLY GOOD doctor here.
Many thanks for the information, Ajz....I've made a note of it. I guess I should go ahead and get something set up so it will be in place if I ever need someone.
My doctor is Dr. Montoya in Cloudcroft. I like her even though I 'm not a big fan of doctors, she's personable and caring.
Have you thought about the sleep disorder place in Alamo?

Thankyou so much Ajzjmsmom !!! as that was exactly what i was looking for as info goes. I see that Dr. Bankston is a DO but i assume that's just about the same as a MD?

No i probably wouldn't go to it as i know what is causing my insomnia as it's pure stress related and i have to solve that on my own and then things will turn back to normal but until then if i can get some med's for only when i can't sleep i'd be a happy camper.

She is an osteopathic doctor, I found this online What is the difference between an M.D. and D.O. doctor? that tells what the difference is between the two. Too bad she isn't on my insurance I think I would like to go to her.
