Default Truth or consequences info

I drove through TorC yesterday and looked all around the town.TorC seems kinda weird, like one of those towns that you would see on the movies that mess with city folks. The town was dead at 6pm,like it was almost deserted. It seemed kinda like a cult town, does anyone have any info on this place.

Interesting isn't it? try spending a week there when we left TorC we were completely relaxed, body, mind and soul. True it does mess with your head , rarely do we see that kind of solitude after 7pm...of course being over 50yrs old and in a town that shuts down early is fine for us. No industry.. no rush hour....like someone else said, there is plenty of info in other posts...all we can say is we liked it..

3 years later, Spaceport America is being built, the largest shop in the state specializing in NM made is celebrating it's 3rd anniversary in Sept., Wally-world opened, town was chosen to be part of the "Main Street" project, more and more people are coming to get married here, new restaurant has made it thru 1st anniversary. It's still dead at 6 p.m. 28 days a month. Such is small town life.

The movie The Year One with Jack Black was shot here.

It's an eclectic town that CAN mess with your head...

But try it, you might like it...

It's just eclectic and tangential enough to keep most of the timid at bay and the repellent yuppies away! Change is inevitable and slowly occurring but no one can yet predict how this "sleepy hollow" will morph! My neighbor is selling 28 acres with three wells for ~150K if you're game!

I doubt it would matter what time of day you drove through; my experience is that it's pretty much always like that. I think that's what some people like about it.

Saw the coolest big lizard (with a cocked head and an attitude saying to me in my huge RV "You're not such a much!") and a very handsome male Tarantula which "posed" (typical spider threat posture but it was so kung Fu-ish!!!) for me on my hand...much to mama's disdain...while visiting our land in TorC last week! Really big millipedes everywhere as well.
