Default New Mexico crime map

This is from moving.com, which references local law enforcement statistics. The first map is personal crime, which involves battery, combining risks of rape, murder, assault and robbery.

It's a crime rate not the number of crimes.

If it were a map of total number of crimes it would be even more graduated.

What's interesting is the huge rates in Quemado/Pie Town/Datil.
I suppose that if there were two/three crimes there, it swings the color from peach to dark orange.

Springer and Santa Rosa also appear to be hotbeds of crime with Cuervo and Newkirk totally, insanely dangerous.

Placitas shows a higher rate than Bernalillo.

How many of em are in the prison in Springer ? If they get charged "on the outside" it is counted as crime in that City.

I am kind of surprised by some of those rates.

Even with violent crime though it makes a difference if it's domestic assault, gang fighting versus attacks on total strangers - like muggings.
