Default Wild Horse Ranch ?

Any folks able to give any input about this development. Road conditions,
crime if any, people density, Traffic quads, 4wheelers, etc.
I have plans to visit this area in Sept/Oct with the intention of purchasing a chunk of land. I think its about 1/2 way between Pie Town & Grants

Aloha, Les

I can't give provide info on the ranch itself but it is located in a area that is far from everything. In NM, when you see a town on a map, you may be surprised to find there are practically no services there - Pie Town, Quemado and Datil being an example. Grants is the closest thing resembling a town. Also, I'd definitely check into the water quality/availability before I'd buy.

The land is remote and beautiful. The road closest to the ranch is dirt that can get messy if it rains or snows too much.

There are quite a few of these types of "ranches" being sold in the Datil area and I've thought about buying something in the area but it would be used as a place to get away for the weekend and not as a primary residence. That's just me though.

And looks to be at least 50 miles with 11 miles of dirt from Grants, too. That is really in the middle of nowhere. And they don't even list prices.

If you are planning to build a house... and I can't think of a reason why you'd want to buy land like that otherwise... then I'd seriously consider looking elsewhere. You can get similar sized parcels on beautiful NM land, that have much better access, and they will still be cheap compared to the cost of building.
