Thanks for inventing a historical item just for me. Even with such a brief history as this, it sounds like a GREAT idea.

Default Yum

Thanks very much. I'll go rifle through moms recipe box when her back is turned today and "borrow" the yum yum recipe. Maybe i'll liberate the whole box, I hate to see poor caged recipes.

1 pound Rhodes Frozen Bread
4 ounces Hunts Spaghetti Sauce
4 ounces Hormel Pepperoni
2 to 3 links of Johnsonville Mild or Hot Italian Sausage
1 to 2 small cans of mushrooms
1 - 8 ounce package of shredded mozzerela cheese
Place Rhodes Frozen Bread into a lightly oiled bread pan and let rise, usually 6-8 hours.
Once it has risen, punch it down and lightly knead it in your hands. Place bread dough onto a lightly floured flat surface such as a table, and flatten out by hand and then roll it out with a rolling pin into a thickness of 1/8 to 3/16 of and inch.
Squeeze Johnsonville Sausage from it's casing and flatten out in a skillet, pre-cook italian suasage in a skillet, drain grease - oils, and pat off excess with paper toweling.
Place rolled out Rhodes Bread onto a dry ungreased 14 inch pizza pan, and begin building your pizza by spreading the spaghetti sauce evenly, next, neatly place pepperoni all over on top of sauce, - place broken up pieces of italian sausage randomly all over, place mushrooms all over, and finally, sprinkle shredded mozzerela cheese over all. Fold excess of Rhodes Bread dough over the edges of pizza pan, if desired, place extra cheese around edge before folding, for a cheese stuffed crust. If you don't want all that excess dough, simply trim it off before placing into oven.
Preheat conventional oven at 350 degrees, place pizza on middle rack, and bake for 35 minutes.
It's the best pizza you'll ever make at home. It is a semi-stuffed crust pizza. Yield, 8 pieces.
Variations can be canned, well drained spinach, ground chuck, or any other ingredient that you choose. If using aluminum pizza pans, you should double or triple their thickness because these aren't really heavy duty enough to get into and out of the oven. If you double or triple the thickness, add about an extra 10 minutes to baking time.
This pizza with these ingredients will cost you about $8.00 to make at home, much less than delivery, and much better than store bought frozen pizza.
Why these specific ingredients? Taste is everything!

Exclamation Raiding The Recipe Box

so, does mom know you pilfered her recipe box?
I gotta tell ya, I may not do this treat till the cooler winds blow. I hesitate firing the oven for pizzas, that why I might try the other, mexican style pizza, just invented by one of our pals. I do love pizza, and my ann found some coupons for pizza hut. I used to like pizza hut, but the first time pizza hut in this town for me was, well, less than expected quality. and, never went back, got hooked on dominos for the pinch. but, I still like close to home made. hey, what can be said? when you grow up in chicago, and all the fine ethnic foods, you really come to appreciate and miss, the really good stuff. lasagna, gyros, china town down by cermak road, oh jeez, I miss it. if you couldn't tell it from my fat boy appearance, I love biscuits and gravy too, but will also settle for hot dogs on the grill and beans too. I melt for apple pie.
I think the truth about Truth or Consequences is that you's better come here prepared to be your own chef or baker, if you want good eatin's and good vittles. hilltop and hodges ain't too bad, but I've had better from a greasy spoon on a chicago street corner.
It's about checkout time for us in this town. we bought this trailer from an unyielding person who refused to give up the title, and when threatened with court action, that required his attention, he came up with the title, so, we're going to try to sell the trailer, and pull the plug on this place, and pick another spot on the US map. maybe back to milwaukee or a surrounding area? who knows. we don't yet. I know for sure it will not be denver. I sure would dislike having to pull this trailer, my mpg might be 5 if I'm lucky and have a tail wind. we'll keep you posted, but would like to get together again before a departure.
We met this fellow named tom over at wally world who is the baker there. he's from wisconsin too, very friendly cuss. he tried florida, but the climate wasn't his cup-o-tea either. must have been the humidity? we like dry too. too bad we may not be here to greet gregw and dracul if they come this way. we were planning on being the welcoming committee when they came. never know though, with the economic situation the way it is, we may have to winter here again, which ain't so bad. I gotta get up to Gila again though, at least once more. I consider it closer to you know who's country, even though I'm a independent believer of faith.

Ever been to Wyoming? Theres some ok towns there if you can stand the cold. Sheridan isn't bad, a little windy. Casper is windier. Didn't like Laramie too much when I lived there.
If you like truly getting away from everything, you could go to Montana around Libby and Troy. Got koocanusa lake right there, booful rivers, the works. But you're stuck with teensy towns again. If you want to get even FARTHER from it all, could check out The Yaak. I lived there for about 4 years before finances changed and had to leave for work. Rough rough winters, but is an amazing place. Moose, Elk, Deer, tons of good fishing, grizzlie bears, huckleberry pickin spots, fresh Morrel Mushrooms (not sure spelling is right). Very hard on a person to live there year around tho.

Wow what a storm. Our alfafa field is gone. Ours and all the neighbors as far as the eye can see are now swampland, as are some of the houses near us. Hope everyone weathers the storm ok without injury or too much damage.

The MRI shows that the infection did indeed somehow snap a tendon connecting my middle finger with the extensor digitorum complex. Additionally, the dorsal carpal ligament and the underlying tendon sheaths have hardened into a pronounced bolus just distal of my wrist bones. This sucks...although I try to stay optimistic. All this from a CAT BITE!!!!! No amount of rehab can regrow the tendon and reduce this heavy scaring I'm afraid. I've talked to two surgeons so far and want to consult one more at least before I risk the knife. Considering the fact that I'm an artist whose entire life resides in this paw is a bit unsettling to say the least...at any rate my left hand is becoming much more adept generally. No choice in the matter really.
.
Just read ths, Dracul, so sorry!
( Till I get an ISP, I'm dependent on CyberCafes in Las Cruces for occasional WIFI, so not much time to catch up. )
I went through the 'cat bite' thing too, a few years ago! Took me by surprise how serious it can be!? Actually, it happened twice in 6 months! First time, hospitalized overnight.
2nd time? I was in the hospital for A WEEK ! They had to do 2 surgeries on my index finger, leaving me with an interesting V shaped scar.
Not sure of your details, but I know you need to take that stuff seriously. Within a day, infection can start and if redness starts spreading, that's BAD. They told me you can actually lose your arm due to gangrene!! How bizarre is that, after being a life long cat owner???
Fortunately, I had insurance, and in fact worked in a building connected to the hospital. I needed an IV, but felt fine, so I even went into work a couple of times--oh wait, not with the IV- -LOL--- they'd take it out for a few hours. Oh, also, I worked in a research lab, so it's not like I was waiting on customers-

Hope you're able to take care of it without any serious longterm damage!
