I was wondering where I could find out if there are any properties for sale that have a small hot spring included. I could do a lot with a supply of geothermal hot water.

Hmmm, but what about the air quality in Silver? I hear it's a bit more lively ("lively" being a relative word). I am considering coming out there in March...we'll see. It's either go there and check things out again, or go to San Diego for my daughter's spring break...she is trying to decide about going to San Diego or San Jose (for International Business). Or maybe I'll wait until summer again...or maybe Christmas. Christmas in Santa Fe could be interesting!
I've got to get some firmer plans going. I know it's weird, but I think I'll stay out of AZ for awhile. It seems each time I go there someone in our family dies I have a sister in Scottsdale whose son just died a year and a half ago from a hiking accident. I just have this thing about AZ now...I'm phobic about it. Albuquerque is probably where I'd go and then go there. I don't know....I'll figure it out. Tucson was pretty -- I've spent time there, too, but it wasn't for me.
Now, if I were a contractor, I'd know where to set up a business!! I wish I knew that business.
This is all good information. Designer, at least you know where I am now, so that is helpful. Yes, I'd love to get out of the winter rains here! By the coast, it's not so bad; up where I am, it's a deluge! Yuck. But I'm spoiled, I guess -- I've lived in some pretty nice places in the U.S., so I shouldn't complain. I just want to retire in a nice place, too.

When I visited Silver City the air was acting very suspiciously. You could not see any of it. Spooky it was. Never trust air you can't see.

Hahaha. Well, if you've checked the other posts about Silver City, apparently, it is a problem. Why walk into a problem when you don't have to??

Silver vs T or C
Both towns are unique in their own way. I have been spending time in Tor C fixing up a couple of homes to flip and have always enjoyed my trips to T or C. It seems a little quieter in TorC than in Silver. There is more of an art scene in Silver and I think the music scene will catch on as I see it making a come back. Hopefully the public schools and college will quit making cut in their programs and be leaders in bringing a great music scene to Silver City. I am an Associate Broker in Silver City and can help anyone interested in finding a home in Silver.
The weather always seems warmer in TorC than here in Silver. I would have thought that TorC would have grown faster than it has. That's one reason for investing there.

In Silver City or TorC ? I have a couple of properties less than 150k in each place. 2 @ 125k and 1 @115k. There are Broker owned and one has been totally redone since I took over. If you want me to search the MLS in Silver, I can help you there as well.

The smog is very low here and you rarely see any pollution in the air. Sometimes smoke from forest fires. Being next to 56 million acres of forest there has to be some payoff.

I have 2 houses in TorC that I would consider selling. They are broker owned and I would consider selling the house on Kruger for 125k and the one on Lucky St for 115k

I have never seen the bad air quality that you are talking about in Silver but
it could be there. They do from time to time have forest fires in the mtns and
that could be what you are referring to. Putting it simply T or C is very laid
back. It is full of societies dropouts that never seem to work or never want
to work. I've been trying to figure out their secrets so maybe I could give it
a try. All I've heard since I have lived in T or C is how it's going to boom
but the boom has yet to happen but who knows it could. There really seem
to be a lot of dreamers here but maybe those are just the people I meet. It
could be the same in Silver City but I don't think it's as bad. I live in a pretty
good area of T or C and there are a few houses that have been for sale for
quite a while and I know of a guy from Colorado who came down to buy cheap
and sell high and he's probably wishing he had never heard of T or C. Somebody from California was buying it sight unseen and when they came to
town they left about as fast as they came and no sale. I think they liked the
house but not the town. Also I have a friend who has a nice house for sale
near me. Same thing. A new york couple sent a deposit after seeing it on
the net and when they came to town they were so unimpressed they left
immediately. Now after saying all that I don't think it's all that bad just laid
back and not progressive at all. Also most of the bohemians keep telling me
how much they hate traffic and big cities but in the same breath how much
they think this place is going to boom. Well if it booms it might not have the
same character and charm if you could call it that. I guess if they own property then they will win and if not they will lose as their cheap rents will
go up. This town could be perfect for some people and they should check it
out before reading to much into any forum including this one. This is only
my opinion and how I see things here. We all have different backgrounds
and there might not be a perfect place to live.
