We miss the Lutefisk/Meatball dinners.
We went up to Colorado Springs this last week to have a Lute/Meatball dinner at the local SON and it was great.
Are there any Scandinavians out there in Northern NM that would like to have something like this.

I know a few Norwegian-Americans, myself included, but there are not enough to host a functional SoN club. There is a Scandinavian club here in Albuquerque.
I had to stoop to inviting a Swedish girl over for kjøttkaker and ertestuing. I didn't even want to waste my last can of fiskeballer on her! ;-) Just kidding. Nothing is wasted on her.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but I am really interested in making contact with people in the ABQ area that speak Norwegian. I have kids that live with their mother in Oslo. She has failed to meet her end of the bargain to teach them english (even at my expense!) The best case scenario is that I find some younger girl that speaks Norwegian and would like to be paid to help them learn english. Help?

I don't know how old your kids are, but they will certainly learn English very well in Norway. All Scandinavians learn many years of English in school. So, it might be a bit of a wait, but they will learn! My heart goes out to you if your kids are young and you cannot converse with them....  |
