Smile Considering relocating to Aztec/Farmington area

I have a job oppurtunity in Aztec, NM...I'm sure this area is an archaeology mecca...but I'm wondering how easy it is to find affordable apartments and other types of jobs in this area (such as computers/technology), as my search online hasn't come up with much. Any help would be appreciated!

I really like Aztec. There arent alot of apartment buildings but usually homes for rent. The area is a laid back town. Yes it is an archaeology mecca. Durango, to the north has most of the tech and computer type of jobs. Farmington has more of the industrial jobs, oil industry, etc. Keep checking around and some rentals will open up. I would seriously consider buying a modular home, which isnt expensive on some land and then you can resell it later or build a home on that land if you like to stay. It wont be much of a difference in rent and monthly payments on a modular. That way your not wasting your money. Just an option think about. The thing to do is look around and see the area and start asking locals if they know of any where to rent. In Aztec, the town people know everyone pretty much so they could tell you if they know something. Lastly, Durango has tons of apartments, so many people commute from Durango to Farmington and back. People work in Farmington and live in Durango and vice versa. Since there are so many who do this, there are alot of workers who carpool to save money.

oh excellent! I thought Durango was MUCH farther than that. For some reason my employer said it was 309 miles away. Maybe he meant 39?

I asked about the tech jobs since that's what my boyfriend does and I'm hoping he'll be able to come with me...

Yes it is like 36 or so miles to downtown Durango, but since Durango sprawls out, you are in the Durango city limits pretty quick.
