Red face looking to rent in Farmington - with dog - help!

I'm moving to Farmington hopefully around mid-July for a job, but I can't find any place to live that meets my needs. It's just me and my dog - so I want something small and affordable to rent - but everything I've found is either too big and pricey or won't allow pets. I've called every apartment that I think exists in Farmington, as well as all the local realtors, and I've been checking the local paper. Any other suggestions?? Help would be greatly appreciated!

I would look in Aztec too. It is a fast trip to Farmington, like 10 miles or so and it is cheaper and usually they are more open to pets there. It is a nice artsy small city. Also look in nearby Flora Vista. Whatever you do, avoid Shiprock. You might stay at a motel until you can find a place. Alot of motels take pets like Comfort Inn. Another possibility is to just buy a mobile home. They are cheap to buy and then you can do whatever you want with it. You can get buy it and pay for a park space and still be cheaper than an apartment. Farmington lacks in apartments. There just isnt enough and more of ones for pets would be nice. They open up sometimes. I see them in the papers at times but not often.

Again, check Aztec, Flora Vista, possibly stay at a pets allowed motel until you can find a pets allowed apartment, or buy a mobile home which can be cheaper than an apartment, plus you can resell it, so your money isnt wasted and lastly just keep looking. Some will open up. You might even put an ad in the Daily Times Farmington Daily Times - Home stating what you are looking for and you might get a reply that way. Lastly, as I stated in another post, there are alot of apartments in Durango, Colorado, less than an hour away, so many live there and work in Farmington and vice versa. Many carpool back in forth. Also ask locals when you are there. Locals may be able to tell you something ads dont. Good Luck!

C&R Mobile Homes is in the business of helping people needing to sell their mobile homes fast... they will sometimes rent out mobiles as well.

If a mobile becomes your option of choice, be sure to see if the park will allow pets. We lived in two parks that didn't, and it was a bummer because we owned our mobile, just not the land it was parked on!
