They were selected best Green Chile Cheeseburger by default. The Owl, Bobcat Bite, nor any of the other usual suspects joined the contest at the State Fair.

Plenty of competition for the title, even without the usual suspects there.

Do you suppose that there was some special ingredient that the health department frowned upon?

The secret ingredients, perhaps, is just a peench of cucaracha! But, hey, as every serious chowhound knows...you go where the flavor is.
I've never had a GRCB at this place, but I'll see if it's reopened when I go thru that area in the Fall.
Gotta wonder what caused a joint to absolutely SHUT DOWN...is this true? I'd think you'd almost have to kill someone to get locked up.

It's often the case. The best greasy spoon diner kind of places with food that isn't chain restaurant flavored aren't always the cleanest.

One must keep your taste buds and immune system in good shape by frequent excercize. A great Green Chille Cheesburger in a greasy resturant does both.

Tanning under the lights probably isn't any better for you than a little cucaracha in your burgers!

BTW, Cathy4017, I've got a BigBore 94 in .375 Win. I wish there was still factory ammo made for it.

Not to dredge up old news, but The Outpost also closed in the past year. It had been open many years under the same family ownership, but ran out of heirs apparently. And the Owl Bar has changed owners and been out-burgered by a competing place on the other side of the road.
