I will be traveling to NOLA over Labor Day and wanted to know how much the taxi fare will be from the airport to the French Quarter. I will also be staying @ the St. Louis Hotel and wanted to know if anyone has stayed there or knew any information on the property. Thanks for the help in advance.

I was advised to avoid taxis in NOLA. Apparently, the taxi drivers like to charge what they please.

Your best bet would be the shuttle. $13 each way.

Go to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport and click on Ground Transportation for more info.

I was there in May, and used taxi service from airport with no problems. I think United Taxi is the most common company. Rates are ususally displayed on sticker on window, and are typically a flat fee to French Quarter. $28 ($1 fuel surcharge) for 1 or 2 people, $12 each for 3+

If using airport shuttle for return trip to airport, I don't think the pickup time is flexible. They will pick you up no later than 2.5 hours before your flight no matter what. Fare is $13 plus $2 fuel surcharge.

A taxi will be $33 + tip.

There is also a the E2 bus that will take you downtown during the (weekdays) for only $2.00. See:Jefferson Transit
