I am planing a trip to new orleans and I am looking for us somewhere to stay that is romantic but exotic as well. Really want to stay away from hotels but will consider it. A while back we stayed in a one bedroom apt a few blocks from burbon st. It had one of those 4 poster beds with the mosquito nets on it. Any help would be great

Hi, guessing you're from Meridian MS. I spend as much time as possible there, my grandmother lives off North Hills St.
Have you looked at the Marigny area? It is just downriver from the French Quarter and has a bit of a sultry vibe, more tha Uptown definitely, and is much quieter than the quarter. I'm guessing your girl would like it. Good luck.
