I'd like to see some of that office space demand head west to Hammond. In the future, each stop on I-12 should be it's own urban center.

That would be cool. You would expect to see more in Tangipahoa as it is when you look at all of the stuff that they have in St. Tammany, at least I would.

Only time I go on the northshore is when I'm going to Florida so I don't remember anything but the mall in Hammond.
Overall the northshore is a huge component in establishing the inevitable 'Pontraplex.'

Sounds like you're there more than I am. I've wondered why you St. Tammany growing off of New Orleans and Livingston growing off of Baton Rouge, but Tangipahoa just sits there dead almost. It's less than an hour away from both cities, I-12 and I-55 intersect there, and there's a university there.

I've only been on I-12 (outside of BR of course) a handful of times. Hammond should enjoy growth and prosperity off of either cities. I could see it as more of a city than a large town. It has a college, two interstates, a between two metro's. Just doesn't make sense.

But one thing does make sense, I get to watch the pounding tonight. Who Dat!!!

Never was...Only select few from my experience growing up in the city actually "made" any money in the N.O....and using Buckhead and Manhattan as comp's is reaching far. I live next to Buckhead and have an apartment in New Yor. Buckhead rents are high, just as high as UES,LES,Manhattan in certain areas of ATL. And where I live in the "New Harlem", is kinda pricey as well. Im off of 5th and W. 118th.

The New York and N.O. comparison in my eyes is this:

I grew up Uptown off of Louisiana and Barrone. You walk 3 blocks down Louisiana Ave. towards the river and there are Antebellum Mansions. Rich folks. But by me it was hood. Just a three block distance. Manhattan, the same. Lower and East Manhattan are pricey, upper and West are not as much. The only diff is that NY'ers call their uptown Harlem.

Seems like New Orleans is getting back to the way it used to be and should have stayed. Good to see so much redevelopment and coming to the city center. Wish we could get a grocery store near downtown BR.
