I have been offered a job in Avondale just on the opposite side of the river. Can anybody tell me of a safe area around Avondale to live (Avondale itself???) or is it better to live in some areas of NO itself? Also, whats the transit situation like....is a car required?
Thanks |

Personally I would look for a job in another city.

Car is required pretty much.
There is a Westbank bus I think but it's slow. Best place to live is Uptown New Orleans near the Universities if you can afford to do so. |

the Old Metairie area is pretty safe, my grandparents live there and I lived there when I was little. Also, this area doesn't flood
