Hows New Orleans holding up? I heard there was some flooding in the rural parishes outside the city, let's hope the Orleans Parish Levee holds up after the $14 billion in upgrades ...

New Orleans doing fine. We're ok here in Carrollton. I've read reports of serious flooding in Plaquemines and Braithwaite.

Stay safe, folks! And thanks to those from other areas for your concern.

Yeah Plaquemines sounds like it was hard hit..guess my friend won't be flying in/out of Venice for awhile..just hope he got the hell out of there when he came back on shore

The levees on the lake caused most of the flooding in Katrina. It's the river levees we're worried about right now. All i know is that my street looks a lot better than it did in the picture i posted a few weeks ago in the stickied thread

Also heard levee break in Madisonville and flooding raised homes. Have a couple of friends out there and they are offline due to power outage. Another friend near Metairie was switching out towels to prevent water to sip into house, street and backyard flooding.

I just hope those that are trapped can get out safely. I will never forget 8/29/05
