Target is just getting started building urban stores. Not sure if there is a good space for them on Canal.

Downtown would be great for a "City Center" Target...... Convention atendees, tourist and locals should appreciate the balance that Targert provides. A well planned Target should also be no threat to the Bridge and Upscale retail stores already downtown.

As downtown population rises you will see a larger grocer. Grow in moderation..

Put it up closer to I-10 so that area can grow and there is easy access for the interstate and street car.Lower Canal should be for the tourists and upscale retail

Most people patronizing a large grocer downtown probably won't come by car, and certainly not the interstate. The bridge should just be torn down.

I wasnt speaking on the bridges we drive across but "bridge"wear retalors who mostly cater to women(ie. J crew, Coach, Micheal Miceheal Kors) , the step before Hi end and Luxery brands( ie. anything in Saks, or Rubenstien's). A Target downtown should be no threat to that type of retail.

Well, if you're talking about the bridge across the river, then no, that's not coming down. But if you're talking about I-10 then it's good that you finally realized I was right.

Why would I suggest the CCC come down? The Claiborne overpass should have come down years ago, I've never said that it shouldn't. I would even support the demolition of our equivalent in the I-110 interstate that cuts off downtown Baton Rouge from Mid-City. Instead, they are putting a greenway under it.
