I currently live in New Orleans but need to relocate within the city. I am so tired of living in shotgun homes, being that I grew up here as well. I have been looking for a fairly raw, warehouse style, open space with large windows that maybe is up off the street (but not mandatory) that I could live in, and it seems that the only thing I can find are these renovated complexes that have taken away most of what I liked about the warehouse to begin with that are tremendously overpriced for me. Also, I have no desire for any type of amenity unless it is revolved around appliances or ac systems or large windows or original architectural details such as wood floors.

I am currently teaching art, but have always been an artist and I derive most of my inspiration from light, air, and old buildings. It would not have to be large, ~800 sq. ft. but not chopped up into multiple small spaces.

The only other limitation I have faced is my price range. I can't afford anything that is going to be over 1000 a month. So, as you can see, my options have been significantly cut.

DOES ANYONE know how I could find this type of space to live in!? I'm desperate to find it and the more I Google, the more frustrated I am getting..

Thank you!!!

Any loft for rent will probably start around $1500, especially if it's not in a complex.

You definitely have a point there! Let's say money wasn't in the equation, I can't seem to find a good resource to even access listings for these types of properties... any suggestions? Thank you!!
