New Orleanians*

Are you wanting to see the area surrounding New Orleans or explore New Orleans itself? You don't really need a car in the city.

Not far from the city is this:
Barataria Preserve - Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve

There's even a line on that page warning you on how to treat alligators. That's a pretty LA thing to do.

If you really want to get out of the city, then I would say do a swamp tour, check out some of the plantations upriver (esp. Oak Alley) or book a chartered fishing trip.

If none of those sound interesting, you're probably better off just hanging in the city.

If you wanted to go a little farther from the city, you could visit somewhere like Breaux Bridge or Lafayette to see some of Cajun Country.

Yes, because everyone in the city is wasted. No "localness" or culture here. Have you checked the 'annoying misconceptions' thread?

I think he was saying he doesn't want to spend his trip on Bourbon. Nothing wrong with that.

Lol. Exactly... What i meant(ahemm) is that i got the city covered on what I want to see , do and eat. I will be renting a car and exploring the greater NO area and was wondering which areas would be of particular interest.

Dont know where that translated into " there is no culture in the city" ???
