Im gonna be there for 8 nights and was wondering if i had a day where i wanted to go t to the beach...

I would drive to Biloxi and take the ferry for a day trip to the nice beach ???

Or is it not worth it and I should just stay in the city ???

Never been but if it's anything like Biloxi beaches then no. I would just head to somewhere in Alabama. If you just want a quiet beach then I would probably just go to Bay St. Louis.

I do actually think Ship Island is worth it, you get away from the Mississippi Sound and get out into the Gulf, so you've got clearer waters to match the white sand. Like Annie said, things start to get better on the coast around Dauphin Island or Orange Beach, but if all you have is a day then Ship Island is worth it. It's not terribly expensive to get there and you're saving a few hours driving time compared to going to Alabama or definitely Florida.

I say go for it, then on your way back hit up one of the casino buffets, you will eat like a king for a decent price.

Beau Rivage has a killer seafood buffet certain days of the week...check out their website and try to plan your trip around that. Or if you want a more local, authentic experience, take a detour to the house of seafood in Bush, Louisiana...you could hit it up on your way back, you won't be disappointed, trust me!

I've gone there and thought it was worth it. As the poster before said, it's very inexpensive. It will be worth your while.
