Somebody just told me that it's hot there at this time of the year. I am going to be in the Big Easy in a few days and I did not even thought of packing t-shirts and shorts. I actually packed quite a few sweaters and couple of jackets. Dear locals, did I packed the wrong clothes?

It's 72 degrees right now. I don't think you'll need shorts, and I would still bring the sweaters, though you may not need them.

Thanks. I was told that because of the humidity, even mid-70s means t-shirts and shorts.

In the current weather you would probably be fine wearing t-shirts and shorts (at least during the day) and Im pretty sure people all over the country wear that for Mid-70s weather. Its definitely not "hot" right now. Though, as mentioned, in the next few days the weather is supposed to cool down a bit with a high in the mid-50s for Wednesday.

Thanks guys for the info. I happen to live in a city (SF) where the weather report is meaningless. It can be as much as 15 degrees cooler/hotter depending on which part of the city you're in. The temperature is also deceptive, you'd think you can wear t-shirts and shorts in mid 80 degree, surprise! You need a jacket. So it's always good to hear from the locals.
