Yea my wife works at Edna Karr HS so we've looked at Park Timbers and Tall Timbers, which are really nice neighborhoods. I like some parts of Kabel Drive, but the street itself is horrendous in most parts I've seen. Potholes? No. More like craters...

Yep. And insanely cheap considering size/quality of houses and safety, compared to anything on the East Bank.

Isn't there a golf course around there?

The neighborhood fronts on DeGaulle. On one side is Lakewood CC, on the other is where the Brechtel course was. Brechtel Park is in the back. That has lagoons, campsites, and two fake hills
that I thought were huge when I was a kid riding my bike.

Yes indeed. That's the only area of Orleans Parish that offers a similar house/price ratio to Atlanta/Houston/Dallas.

Still looking, things are in flux...any other realtor sites? I have trouble using the one provided earlier.

Default South of Newton ok?

Is Verret Street south of Newtown a decent area? Decent in terms of crime?

Also, how bad is any flooding there?
