I'm not sure your two year old would enjoy, but the WWII museum is excellent. The aquarium is great as is the insectitarium (I am sure I misspelled that word). Preservation Hall is a good family venue for music. Food kind of depends on what you want to eat and where you will be staying. Breakfast at Mena's is good, so is Daisy Duke's. The Gumbo Pot is nice and family friendly. We always eat at least one lunch a Johnny's Po Boy's but it is always crowded so it might not be good for the kids. Swamp tours are fun also. Have a great time it is a fun city to explore.

Do you want to be downtown with a two year old? That's where most of the attractions are.

As far as restaurants, there's Acme Oyster House, Couchon, Ermerils, Arnaud's, Commander's Palace, Deanie's, NOLA, etc. Think all of those are downtown.

I can't think of many kid related activities to do, as I never go with small children.
