This is our first Halloween in the city and we're wondering about trick-or-treating. Is there a specified start and end time? Do some neighborhoods participate a lot more than others? Our neighborhood, the Bywater, seems to have a shortage of kids and I'm worried most houses won't be participating--should we go to a different area, and if so, which one? Any advice would be much appreciated!

Not sure how old your kids are, but here's where I'm taking my 3 and 5 year old: Friends of City Park

For neighborhood trick or treating, I would recommend Uptown neighborhoods near St. Charles, Magazine Street, and Prytania. You could also look into Lakeview

Id recommend lakeview area...there are kids in the area so the homeowners there will be expecting kids to ring their bell for treats next Friday night. And, a good time to start will be 6ish

Audubon Blvd between willow and Claiborne. The secret is out.
