Headhunters/Job Search (New Orleans: headhunter, neighborhoods, to move)

Thanks again for all of your help on neighborhoods. We’ll be visiting again next month, so I’ll report back on new findings.

This time, I’m hoping for some insight on job searches and possible headhunter info. I worked on staff for a magazine in NYC for five-plus years and have been successfully freelancing for the past three. I’m hoping to continue to do the same in New Orleans, but would like to consider a staff job again, if possible. I think that this would give me financial security in a new city and allow me to meet people in a place where I know not a soul.

Has anyone had luck using headhunters in an editorial capacity? Advice for magazine writers in Nola? I’m familiar with the publications down there and have actually written for a few in the past. I’m looking to move sometime btw May-Sept.
