What is the area around 837 Gravier Street like? I will be staying in New Orleans for a month during the summer and looking for potential places to stay at, but I do not know anything about the area. I will be walking to LSU Hospital M-F at around 7am and back around 6:30pm.

Thanks

That's a safe area. Your walk is safe, except that there are some bums that hang out under I-10. I assume you are walking along Gravier under the I-10 bridge. So for that portion just walk quickly.

Late at night, that area is somewhat deserted, but during the day there is a lot of foot traffic. You'll be fine.

I work in that area and walk around a lot. I've never felt uncomfortable.

Thanks. This makes me feel much better. I'll also be working at Tulane hospital as well so staying in this area would be pretty convenient to walk to both places.

Are there any places around that area that I should avoid at night? I've read to avoid rampart at night
