Hello all,
I am planning on going to New Orleans in March to celebrate Easter and to see the NY Knicks face the NO Pelicans. Besides that, I am planning on going site seeing, including:
- French Quarters and Bourbon Street
- Jackson Square
- Saint Louis Cathedral
- Audubon Park and zoo
- Audubon Aquarium
- Cafe Du Monde
- Garden District
What are some other places that's worth checking out?

Also, for years I have heard of the high crime rates in NOLA. Which areas should I avoid and are the places I just listed safe?

There are tons of threads addressing your question. The places you named are the norm although I would skip the zoo unless you just haven't been to one in ages or have kids with you. The Aquarium isn't worth $5.00 IMO and it cost WAY more.

No place is safe. Stay aware of your surroundings at all times.

The Audubon Insectarium is pretty cool too, you can combine all three (zoo, aquarium, insectarium) and they give a discount price.

Don't miss the WWII Museum. It is the 4th best museum in the country.

There are several Easter parades that you might want to check out. Chris Owens has one that is worth seeing... A group of us went to her club several years ago and actually had a really good time. I would love to know her real age, because she dances like she's 21.
