Hey! My brother, my girlfriend, and I are heading to New Orleans on spring break. If one of us is under 21, will we have any trouble getting into bars or clubs? If you have any suggestions on where to go to see good live music or have a good time, go ahead and spill it. Thanks!

Bars and Bands
The age requirements are becoming a little more of an issue, so you may find it difficult to get into most bars if one of you is under 21. There are plenty of rest/bar establishments that will allow 18+ to come in, but they just won't serve liq. to those guests. As for live music... Le Bon Temps, Tipitinas, The Balcony Bar, SouthEnd, House of Blues... I mean really the list is endless, but there are some bands worth making the trip for. Soul Fire, Soul Rebels, Rebirth Brass Band, The Molly Ringwalds, The Revealers... The best way to find out who is playing where is to check the local papers - The Gambit, Where Y'at, and Off Beat are free publications and can be found on racks in doorways all over the city. Best of luck. Oh and you might check Craig's list for rentals around town, but before you commit to anything, run the neighborhood or zip code past some of the people on this site. You don't want to end up in the wrong part of town in this city, and it's VERY easy to do.
