Housing, RV parks, campgrounds? (New Orleans, Metairie: apartment complexes, rentals, safe neighborhoods)

Hello everyone, I am moving to New Orleans with my two children. I am looking for rentals in Metairie and other safe neighborhoods. How can I find something? We have a sweet but large dog.

Also, are there any year round, save campgrounds or RV parks? Maybe I stay there first until we find our way around and are settled.

Craigslist is a decent resource for single/multifamily rentals. The dog will eliminate a lot of them though.

Most of the apartment complexes in Metairie are on the skanky side, but they should allow pets with a deposit. The ones along I10 are hit and miss and the ones just west of Severn Ave(Fat City) should be avoided if possible.

Here are some of the nicer ones:
-Gatehouse
-The Creeks of River Ridge (Palmetto, Citrus, Hickory, etc.)
-Chateau Dijon
-Near Transcontinental and W Napoleon (Rock Creek, Parktowne, etc.)
