I was down in New Orleans this week. Different than what I was expecting, admittedly I didn't go too many places but I got a decent idea of the city. I went out to Slidell to look at places and visited Lake Shore Comunity homes. All new construction. IMO and may not know much it looks like its going to be pretty good. I think if I end up moving I will look into buying out there.

For those more educated with that new development. School me about it, please. These are DR Horton homes. I just googled DR Horton and read some horror stories. Have they cleaned up or reason to worry?

We originally were set to get a house there. We really loved the model homes that were shown to us and that these were brand new homes in a housing development that had seriously great amenities for the residents. I was told that all schools in the St. Tammany Parish were good, but everytime we asked around the school zone that stood out was at 70461 (which was not the DR Horton area). We were open to any school zone, but another factor we considered was proximity to work, which really narrowed our search to that zip code. Wish you all the best in your search!
