Is there a group of people who have relocated to NOLA post-Katrina?
Hi there,
My wife and I moved down here last fall. I came down to teach, but my wife and I have had a tough time connecting with people. Is there a group for people who have relocated down here after Katrina? thanks, jeff

The people in NOLA are friendly, but I found that unless you went to school there, and I mean grade school, you will always be considered an outsider. My wife and I lived there for 16 yrs, she grew up there, I didn't. I can honestly say that in all of those years I never really felt like I had really close friends outside of our kids schools. We left after Katrina and in just the 2yrs we've been in Colorado, I've made so many friends. Thanks for comming to NOLA and keep trying!
