Default New Orleans breakfast

What are some typical breakfast foods in New Orleans? I have heard of Cafe Au Lait and Beignets, but that is all I know.

That's a pretty good guess.

I can't eat cafe beignets though, they're too rich tasting. After one I'm done.

Other famous NOLA morning options include: whiskey, beer, vodka...etc.

I'm sure grits play a big role in breakfasts there.

Eggs Benedict, grits and grillades, or one of my personal favorites, Captain Crunch.

Left out pain perdu, (french toast). Mom's are the best and no restaurant has been able to come close she used to sprinkle them with granular sugar, (probably because it was easier) and cinnamon and they had that lovely eggy quality. Sigh, I'm gonna have to go and put in a request)

Lovely weather we're having this morning eh?
