One of the best meals that I ever had was at NOLA's (Emeril Laggasse) in New Orleans. This was a few years ago, but we had a fantastic 5 course tasting menu that was accompanied with fine wines and the service was excellent.

Commanders Palace is good. Does anyone know if the Delmonico is opened anymore? I ate there years ago and it was pretty good. Some people didn't like it but I would like to go again one day if it is still there.

Where is Drago's open these days? I used to love to go to the Fat City location but it's been closed for years.

I am a N.O. native who now lives in N.Y. state. Commanders, hands down (brunch or lunch) is the best. Can't go wrong with the .25 martinis. Also ask for the dessert, Chocolate Sheba, if you really love chocolate. It is not always on the menu but is the best! Always request the Garden Room, or they will put you with the tourists. Have fun!

Is The Court Of Two Sisters still around? Enjoyed many dinners there a long time ago, but it was always a staple for brunch for me.

As a chef, I think Commander's Palace is pretty awful. From bad service to misnaming classical entrees all the way down to decorating a table like you're at a Chuck E Cheese for special occasions. The owners were wonderful people, but it doesn't save that overpriced tourist trap. You want good NOLA, go to Masperos. Not everything is absolutely amazing, but at least you get what you pay for. I can't think of a "nice" restaurant in New Orleans that I really thought lived up to the reputation (except maybe Dragos).
