Hi everyone! So here goes...I am about to graduate from Arizona State University and have lived in AZ my whole life. My boyfriend and I are have to move to one of three different places so that I can go to graduate school. New Orleans is one of those places. I would be going to Tulane University, so that's exactly where I would be. Can anyone tell me any information to a potential resident? My boyfriend and I are both 22 and would appreciate any advice given. Also, are there any areas to avoid/look at for living situations around that particular area? Thank you all in advance for your time and any advice given!! Have a beautiful day!

The area immediately around campus is a good option. Between Broadway and Jefferson is prime real estate.

If you can't find anything you like there, you can look on the other side of Broadway over to Carrollton Ave. There is lots to do on Oak St., Maple St. and the rest of the Riverbend area, but you will run into a lot of undergrads (namely the few bars on Maple). You'll notice that the further away from the main streets you go, the rougher it gets.

You can also look further downtown past Jefferson, between Freret and the river. Lots to do on Freret St. and also some stuff on Prytania.

If you can stand being a little further from campus, then you can look pretty much anywhere along Magazine St. Anywhere between Magazine and St. Charles is prime real estate. Plenty of commerce on Magazine, and very walkable.

Broadmoor is also an option. This a sleepy residential section of town that is very close to everything, but not very walkable(if that makes any sense). You'll be a quick bike ride to campus and everythere else. Look between State St and Napolean Ave., from Fontainbleau down to Claiborne.
