I KNOW what it means to miss New Orleans! I am living in Newnan,GA due to the hurricane. The nearest big city is Atlanta and it is just as dangerous as New Orleans. I am going back. New Orleans needs good people to come back. The main problem is that there is no industry there. Even before Katrina the majority of jobs were in the service sector. The school board has spent decades destroying the schools and squandering millions of dollars. Since the schools are more than 80% black no one cares. I feel that I can help and perhaps make a change. We cannot abandon New Orleans.

Not cool vibe.
But New Orleans is part of the United States, and it does offer history and culture absent elsewhere, and it was once the business center of the South.

I want to see it succeed. And I will do what I can to realize that. There are alot of new people coming into NOLA, and with Trump Tower and the Federal City project up to 10,000 new jobs will be in New Orleans in the next 2-3 years alone from that.

All you can do is try and I'm certainly not a security seeker. I live in atlanta GA now and I hate this place, most people come here and love it.
Well just make sure that you get rid of:

The Militant/Race-Baiting/Racist, Black(I love chocolate City) Politicians who have Ruined NOLA for the last 25 years...

Are you saying the black parents don't care?

While it is true that the New Orleans area has an economy that is centered on tourism, it also has a strong medical industry. The port and the Port of South Louisiana are some of the busiest ports in the world. There are some large manufacturers like Michoud, Textron and Lockheed Martin. There is the UNO Research Park. Marathon refinery is about to spend billions on a major expansion. Shell Oil and Chevron together have 1,500 white collars in the area, and there are other oil companies I can't think of at the moment. The movie making industry is back in business. I could think of more, but I should leave that up to the chamber types.
