Default Algiers Point

Hello. I need tips about Algiers Point. I haven't decided yet but Algiers is on my list if I have to relocate. I was raised on the West Bank up until my teen years (late 80's). I visit 2 to 3 times per year. I am 33, single, health professional and enjoy balance between home and socializing. I want to know how is the area now, what streets are best to purchase a home...budget would be anywhere from $170 - $200 K, crime, just share what you know.

Also, I might add that my interests include working out at the gym, going to the park, movies/theater, dancing, jazz clubs, poetry & prefer nearby grocery stores. What areas of the city, if not Algiers Point, might fit my lifestyle? I prefer Algiers Point because of the architecturally designed homes & family but I am open to your thoughts. Thanks for your input.
