Default Moving to NOLA, inquiring about bartending?

I will be moving there this summer and there seems to be an abundance of service industry jobs. Does anyone know roughly what bartenders or cocktail waitresses make?

It depends on where you work....the average in tips at any given bar is about $100 a night, with some being higher and some being lower. On weekends, you can double that amount. The highest tips are at the busiest bars, obviously, and at the gay bars. I know a few bartenders that work at the gay dance bars and they average $200 a day and $500 on the weekend per shift. In the finer hotels, the clientele is a different element and the tips can be in the $1000 week range without the loud noise you will find at the other establishments I mentioned in this post. Good luck with your endeavors in New Orleans. You will enjoy life here....especially if you are on the eccentric side. We have quite a few eccentric bartenders in this city.
