Default Hospital Positions

Hey!

How widely available are hospital jobs for unit sec, receptionists, etc?

What are the hours like and what does normal pay start at?

Positions are all over nola.com but I've been told the pay is low and you would do better elsewhere in the city.

Its true; the pay is very low at most hospitals in the area and the benefits are terrible. These are also the jobs that get cut first; most hospitals in the area have had several rounds of layoffs in the past few months.

For hours: I've worked in 4 hospitals and 2 states and the hours are the same as the day shift, usually 7 am to 3 pm. They hav weekend coverage so not everyone is there every day, each has to take so many weekends shifts.

It's pretty true....the average RN in New Orleans makes around $70K to $90K....if you are a lead you will make a little over $100K.

NOLA is looking for just about every position right now.
The economy woes are kind of a blessing in disguise to fill positions. Well, obviously not country wide, but we're feeling the benefits.
