Hello,

I am going to New Orleans for a week's vacation April 6-9. The weather site says it's going to be between 75-80 degrees but I've read in many places that New Orleans is very humid. What kind of clothes do you recommend packing? Is there a substantial difference in the day vs the night?

Thanks

Only if a cold front passes. Otherwise it stays pretty humid at night.
If it's vacation, I'd say shorts, tshirts, a pair of slacks for at night, button down short sleeve shirt, and a light jacket. You shouldn't need anything heavier. If you're cold-natured, maybe bring a pair of sweats or long pants just in case. The jacket should be enough. Mornings will feel comfortable, they shouldn't be that cold to you plus it'll warm up pretty quickly after the sun is up.
It has been pretty warm down here for most of the year so far.
I think they told us 49 in Baton Rouge last night and it ended up no lower than around 65. Someone dropped the ball there.

You might want the jacket or a light cotton sweater for the air conditioned buildings after being out in the heat/humidity. It doesn't bother me but it did bother my mother and sister.

It hasn't really been all that warm or humid most of the time right now. I went to Wednesday at the Square wearing a lightweight jacket today.
