Default Stinky

Okay, so I've moved from Chalmette, to Down Da Road, (it's pretty cool, really), and it smells like melting plastic outside in the back and front yards, in the house and down the street. Is it just stinky here or does anyone smell it? I wonder if it is coming from the river. Kinda like when we lived near the river in Chalmette and you could smell the odor from that oil spill.

PS as I live and breathe Eric on channel 4 says that they are getting calls from all over about the smell too. I'm heading for the Northshore today to do Mom maintaince so at least I'll escape! (Don't y'all hate it when the cat drinks your coffee when you are on the computer. Naughty Mimi.)

PPS: Headache and gag reflex because it got so stinky, getting better now though.

NOLa.com says its the Dow plant in Hahnville.

Vile isn't it...and I notice how Dow says well it's not fatal so deal with it pretty much.

That gets me much more than the crime and the buckled streets....Louisiana allows itself to be treated like a red headed step child and these Cancer Alley polluters don't care.

I remember when I lived in River Ridge, there were times when the odors coming off of the River were putrid! It was soooo vile and nobody knew what it was. I can't say I really miss that part of New Orleans. I think the public should demand an immediate response from Dow, this is totally unacceptable!

Well, got on the phone with Toupsee and haven't left yet. It's gotten way better in the past 30 min. or so. Seriously, I've got a headache, (The gag thing is not unexpected because I'm pretty well known as having a really bad gag reflex to smells or even other people fake gagging, how I made it right after Katrina is beyond me.)! Oh well, it smells better now and I don't think there is any brain damage so I'm off to do chores for my Mom.

Note to self and other 1/2: Absolutely NO fake gagging when next in
Drou's company!
I hope that odor dissipates soon, no-one should have live like that.

One favorable safety aspect is that ethyl acrylate has good warning properties; the odor threshold is much lower than any level of health concern. In other words, the bad odor warns people of ethyl acrylate's presence long before the concentration reaches a level capable of creating a serious health risks.

You can have my share.

Humans are horrid stewards. Pas bon.

There will be a price that humanity will have to pay and it will have nothing to do with money.
