Bubbles, the NOPBA was alive and meeting pre Katrina. I havn't been a member for years but you can contact Roy Wilson at 601 798 8778 or Martin Rohlfs @ 225 439 6920 they are still very active in the club. Hope this helps, Joe H.

Dear Joe,
Thank you so much for your reply! I had been so frustrated in my search for any info on my grandfatrher and his love for power boats that I'd forgot I posted this message. Today I found a life-time membership award given to him from NOPBA in 1969 by Commodore Al Flair. and a picture of one of his boats the H-15. My Grandfather; Eugene Nichols aka "NICK" built unlimited hydroplanes out out of shop Paragon Engine Company, Ponchartrain Blvd - New Orleans back in the 50' & 60's. He and his crew were known as The Paragon Racing Team. There is no one left in my family that knows anything about my grandpa. I only remember him as a kid. I do know that his wife or mate was Hazel and possibly her son Norman? But with only that info I can't find them either. But I will try the folks you suggested. Thanks again so very very much.
Barb Cameron
My home number is 904-692-4054 if you or someone you know can help.
