I was gonna say Stella; I think thanks to Streetcar it's a name linked to New Orleans even if not a traditional N.O name. Perhaps DON'T take her to the Stanley and Stella shouting contest though!

I'm from New Orleans, and my Chihuahua's name is Zulu (after the New Orleans parade, and the African tribe). How about Endymion, Cajun, Voodoo, Gumbo, Louis Armstrong, Beignet, Hurricane, Chickory, Praline, Lagniappe, Creole, Jazz, Dixie, or Bourre (BOO-ray).

How about Boogaloo ? That's an old N.O. term that you younger folks wouldn't know about . My Mom was born and raised there . She told me what it meant .

Nope . Not it . You probably have to be an older native of N.O. to know . It goes way back .

Since I was born there in 1942, I can think of a racist connotation but I would think today people would not name their puppy with that in mind.
