July 9, 1971 - The Night Shea Stadium Nearly Collapsed

Here are the anarchists that nearly destroyed a NYC landmark.

They stirred up powerful emotions in the entire crowd of spectators, many of whom found their bodies uncontrollably convulsing and gyrating as the show progressed. All this convulsing and gyrating caused the upper deck to sway a foot or more. In the end, a good time was had by all.

Nearly 4 decades later the landmark is history but the music lives on forever!

Listen, I'm a lifelong Mets fan, and even I won't go so far as to call Shea Stadium a landmark. It was just another of the 'cookie-cutter' stadiums built in many cities during the 1960s.
