Default Advice for an emigrating musician please?

Hi there,

I'm a drummer and I am planning to move to New York next spring but I don't really know where to look for apartments and jobs.

I'm a freelance musician and music tutor so was wondering where the strongest music scene was and possible employment?

Should I be looking in Manhattan or Brooklyn or anywhere else?

I would be looking for a 1 bedroom/studio apartment preferably anything under $900 a month, although I'm not sure if that's entirely realistic.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

In your other post you made just 8 minutes after this one, you say you want to move to LA, at the completely opposite end of the country. Here, you contradict yourself and say you want to move to NY. You remind me of another poster we had a while back who said he wanted to move to NY but then also wanted to move to another city not even remotely close. Why don't you make up your mind first on which coast you want to live on, and then which city you want to live in, before you expect us to give you any advice. Otherwise, it would be a waste of our time if you can't even make up your mind.
