I've never seen a good breakfast buffet in New York City and I've been here most of my life. In fact, I will visit buffets in most other cities but would never think of doing it here. Frankly, I am somewhat leery of it here, the sheer number of people that pass through and the chances of getting tainted food . . . I never recommend buffets in NYC for that reason.

You got a good point. There are a lot of lunch buffets in Manhattan that get whacked with Dept. of Health violations all the time.
I think that in NYC you'll find most breakfast buffets are confined to hotels. Especially for weekend brunch.
