Regarding Sheepshead bay's new Tower the Vue. On the premises.....

“There is a coffee shop that is going to roast its own beans that is interested in one of the retail spaces.”

And a part of me died today. Call me old fashioned, whatever but the charm of this area is really on it's last legs.

Sometimes you gotta let go of the past, this neighborhood has been evolving in recent decades, now it's time to get gentrified.

As long as jimmys hero's, wheelers, roll and roaster and the fishing boats are in place, you can still reminisce on the good days.

Could you have been a little more descriptive in the thread title? I'm sure you didn't intend it to be click bait but "Nooooooooo!!!" doesn't hint at what the thread is about.

I could have, It was a knee-jerk reaction post. "new coffee shop" would have sounded like advertising. Maybe I could have wrote gentrification hits that bay though or similar. Meant no click bait or weirdness.

Jimmy's is right next to where another new building is going. Workers told me there are not going anywhere though. Enough $$$ is offered that could change. The boats are likely there to stay.

Good memories cannot be sold though!

Cool news. Sheepshead Bay is a hidden gem and I hope it does gentrify further.

What ? This building is only 7 stories. I think you are thinking of 1501 Voorhies Ave.

lol at Sheepshead Bay gentrifying. It is not gentrifying in any traditional sense.

Ten years ago there were Russians buying million dollar ****ty condos in Brighton Beach simply because they were near the water. This is an extension of that.

This is FOB-ish Russians being Russians. This isn't gentrification.
