The only 24 hour big box stores I know of in the NYC area are..

- Secaucus Wal-mart (open 24/7). Walmartstores.com: Walmart Expands to Bring One-Stop Shopping Convenience to Secaucus Community

- North Bergen Wal-mart (open 24/7).

- Union Square Best Buy (open 24 hours, M-Fr).

Are there any other big box stores open 24 hrs? I know there used to be some 24 hr Home Depots, but now they all seem to have regular hours.

No and thank goodness. NYC's small Mom-and-Pop shops are what make it a vibrant city and keep the neighborhoods alive. Big Box stores have killed shopping districts in towns all over the country, New Yorkers don't want them here.

The Walgreen's in my neighborhood( Pelham Parkway,BX) is open 24 hours. Not sure if it counts as a big box store although it's pretty big.

There's a hardware store in the twenties near 2nd Ave. that's open 24 hours. Pretty good size too. Anybody know of what I speak? I used them several years ago to close up a store that that a Escalade driven through the glass. Yes they have plywood and lumber too.

That's Nuthouse Hardware on E29th Street. It does come in handy when you need something when the other stores have closed.

ETA: It's a family-owned store, too, so that would tend to qualify it as mom and pop.

Yeah, for the "city that never sleeps" shopping locations here certainly aren't open as late as the Stores in the suburbs I've lived in.

ok here is my question for the people who live in the Manhatten area stores that open 24 hours there in the area .

1-one stop grocery store i do not want to have to run all over the place to shop that is my one thing i hate when i food shop to me it a pain in the butt to run here for meat and here for a sale ..just give me a basic butcher shop and deli inside the place and iam happy. ..

2-farmer market to get some things like

3-large bookstore to buy books and magazines

4-large dvd store to buy the dvd i like

5-movie threate that shows all the lastest films ...

6-great local place to get morning coffee on the way around the city

7-great fast food area or local eatting hole or deli that out of the way of the tourist spots in the area..

so can anyone tell me about those places there in Manhatten area ..
