Why would your parents have stayed in NYC if it was so awful? There is no exit visa to leave NYC, and if it is so bad you need to book your flight to leave tomorrow.

But I know you have an excuse for that, right!

NYC is a dump. As equivalent to a favela. the vast majority of people in NYC live in shacks.

if I had a gun pointed at me and I had to choose between living in NYC or Sao Paulo, I'd say Sao Paulo in a heartbeat.

nice try buddy boy.

I was going through my old threads and saw this one.

I guess a little update for you guys:

I moved to NYC with a 85k/yr + bonus salary.

currently living in Astoria paying 700 bucks a month + about 80 bucks in all utilities.

I work in midtown east a couple of blocks from grand central. high up with amazing views of the city.

love my company and loving it here so far (cept for the inconsiderate dirty people who enjoy littering the city).

He was once very happy in NYC, supposedly!

I would love to buy a high rise condo in Denver.

I love snowboarding, eating out on weekends, going to the movies, traveling (road trips as well), and going on adventures (whether it's biking or hiking).

Where in the Denver area would you guys recommend me look at?
Of course on other threads he was inquiring about moving to other cities. So who knows if he's ever even been to the US, or if he's from Brazil.

I wouldn't recommend that anyone relocate anywhere without landing a job first, esp if your field of study isn't in demand.

Most immigrants stay here because of the support network, access to jobs (mostly low-paying), lack transferable and in-demand skills or a combination of all.

NyWriterdude and Pierre Pont are classiest liberal elitist. These folks say nasty things about poor, people. Immigrants and the uneducated. Well any way. Watch this video. But again. He sounds like an old ignorant buffoon. All is not lost. NYC has some of the highest out of wedlock births in the country. People are dying less. Like DC, NYC attracts top college grads and Ivy Leaguers. This is good for the city in the longrun. But if your in the middle, the middle feels the pinch from both sides.

This is a ridiculous recommendation. People move all the time without landing jobs first.

Ever known someone to go off to college? Oops, that person right there is moving without having a job lined up. Granted they have a situation lined up, but not a job.

If you're willing to hustle, you can hit the ground running after you get to your new place.

In an era of the sharing economy (lyft, uber, Airbnb) there are plenty of ways to make money on the side until one establishes oneself.

I don't know what your problem is, or if you woke up one the wrong side of the bed with Pierre Pont? But first off. My parents left Guyana because it because it slowly became a Socialist Marxist hell hole paradise. A good example is today's Venezuela. Imagine waiting on line for food, or the government can tell you what to say, what you cant say, what you cant produce and so forth. My ancestors left Portugal, Cuba, Barbados, Britain and moved to Guyana to make money after the turn of the 20th century. Now they left Guyana to make money in the states. We move for prosperity. NYC is or was not awful for them. Why? Because they are not born here. Anything is better than NYC. My old man, rest is soul wants me to conquer America like how many people have done before. For some reason why, you seem to be very anti immigrant. Immigrants is what makes this city great. If you don't like what I say. "Gasp". Don't ignore my comments. I think I pulled a chord with you again slowly making you spiral into an tangent.
