Visiting NYC please help
I'm from Florida me and a couple friends will be visiting for a week. Would like to visit The Empire State Building, Liberty Island ,Central park, just to name a few. Would like to find a nice hotel that is close to alot of tourist attractions. We chose The hilton garden inn times square. Any good? Would also like to know the price of cabs, and any info on chinatown. Will appreciate any ideas and tips thx.

It's a Hilton. It's near Times Square. Hiltons are all about being like every other Hilton. I'm sure it's fine. It might be a bit dull, but fine.
Here's a site that estimates cab fare ( New York City Taxi Fare Finder). I personally think the numbers are a little low as it underestimates time standing in traffic, which can really jack up the price, especially if you're going across town. You should take it as a rough guide.

Use the subway. Taxis are expensive, although you may want to use them if you are traveling in the wee hours of the morning.
